Research suggests that while you can lose weight without exercising, you will not maintain it unless you spring into action. How often should you exercise? A survey report says exercising at least three to four times a week is beneficial.
What kind of exercise works best? Aerobic exercises like abdominal curls and sit-ups will not help you lose your pot belly. They will, however, strengthen stomach muscles – and that translates into a tummy that is less likely to poke forward. So, it is recommended that you go on an appropriate diet, until that belly shrinks, then you can now start an exercise program for your abdomen, to strengthen and tone it.
Exercise Indoors
If you do not exercise regularly and cannot take long walks, try to work up a sweat doing housework, or climb several flights of stairs at one time. However, please check first with your doctor about how much – and what kind of exercise you should do.
Eat and Walk
Fitness experts say that diets work better when you add a helping of exercise as well. Exercise helps burn off fat but this furnace-stoking effect still continues even after you have stopped working out. That means exercise works overtime to keep your body trim.
Laundry cum Fitness
Have fun doing your laundry. Bring new meaning to “clean and jerk” or “wash, rinse, wring, and walk up and down.”
Do the Walk
Ever felt boxed-in doing the same routine each day at the same place, with the same people? Do you fell a bit disconnected thinking you are getting nowhere with those excess weight? Well if you want to get somewhere, you got to move, why not walk? Yes, walk, you know, right foot first, and then left foot follows (vice versa), clear?
Walking is the best sand the easiest way to step out into shape. And it is the cheapest of all types of exercise. No membership fees, no monthly dues, no sweaty Neanderthal at your side. All you need here is a good pair of rubber shoes, light loose shirt and shorts or jogging pants (for comport and adequate ventilation) and you’re off to a healthy, low-impact cardio-vascular workout.
It may be a short trip around the neighborhood, a breeze through the park or a trip to the supermarket and back- done regularly it would help strengthen your heart and lungs and get some nasty pounds off your back.
Walking is best done early in the morning, late in the afternoon or early evening when there’s no crowd, and there’s sun, less smog. To spice up your walk, bring a friend along, or plug-in some cool jazz on your ears. Be sure to keep a towel, a bottle of water handy on each trip.
Be sure to keep heart rate up for maybe 30 minutes or so, and you might want to try to do some brisk walking to perk up the intensity of your workout.

Nice tips. I do walk daily for half an hour in the morning and half an hour in the evening and it keeps me fit for sure. So walking is good for health.
